What grades do you serve?
We are currently enrolling for Kindergarten for the 2025–2026 school year. Our long-term roadmap includes adding 1st and 2nd grade the following year, with the goal of expanding through middle school.
Where is the school located?
Pogie’s Academy uses two campus locations: This year the main classroom is located at the Swansboro Location.
Our Farm Campus (with gardens, animals, and nature trails)
Our Water Campus (for weather tracking, exploration, and creekside science)
We offer private bus transportation between campuses, and a Swansboro drop-off/pick-up option which will stay going forward

Refresher Weeks: Last 2 weeks of August
Reinforcement Weeks: First 2 weeks of May
We align major breaks (Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring Break) with Onslow County Schools.
How much outdoor time do children get?
Outdoor learning is central to our model. Students spend significant time outside each day, whether exploring trails, islands, boating, tending gardens, visiting Farm Town, or enjoying traditional play (swings, climbing, slides). This sets us apart—and builds stronger, happier learners.
How do you handle discipline?
We use a respect-based, tiered approach:
Natural consequences and redirection
Peace corners and restorative conversations
Safety-based interventions for serious behaviors (biting, hitting, etc.)
Family collaboration for support plans
Our goal is always growth, not shame.
Is the school religious?
Pogie’s Academy is secular by design. We welcome families from all backgrounds and focus on values like kindness, curiosity, and community.
Will my child transition smoothly to public school if needed?
Yes. We maintain full academic records and align core instruction with North Carolina standards. Your child will not be “held back” for attending Pogie’s Academy.
